Advantage: The mounting plate can be adjusted in depth.

Benefit: Allows for the mounting plate to be fitted at the depth required by the equipment, e.g. for when equipment needs to be flush with the external door, or when two mounting plates are fitted back to back, if front and rear doors are used.
